The Development Gap

Why most players plateau.

The difference between high school players who grow into college-ready student-athletes and those who don't isn't talent. It's development — physical, mental, and emotional. Most families never get a real plan for any of it.

— 01
No One Is Building The Whole Player.
Travel coaches focus on winning games. Hitting coaches focus on swings. Nobody is connecting it all into a development plan that builds confidence, mental toughness, and the habits that translate to the next level.
— 02
Mom And Dad Can Only Do So Much.
Kids hear advice differently when it isn't from their parents. They need an "older sibling" figure — someone who's been in their shoes recently and earned the right to push them.
— 03
The Mental Side Gets Ignored.
Slumps, pressure, failure, comparison, burnout — every player faces them. Most never get coached through them. The players who reach their potential are the ones who have someone in their corner when it gets hard.
Who This Is For

Built for serious families.

We don't take everyone. Our mentorship program is for families ready to invest in their son's growth as a player and a young man.

A Fit If

You're Serious About This

  • Your son is a high school player from freshman to senior year
  • He genuinely wants to grow as a player and student-athlete
  • You're ready to invest in his development on and off the field
  • You want a mentor who's been where he wants to go
  • You'd rather have one trusted voice in his corner than guess your way through
Not A Fit If

This Probably Isn't For You

  • You're looking for a quick fix or a shortcut
  • Your son isn't actually committed to working at his game
  • You want a hands-off service that does it all for you
  • You're shopping purely on price and want the cheapest option
  • You expect transformation without consistent effort from the player
How It Works

More than another lesson.

SKILL WORK
— 01

Film Review
and technique work

Your son's mentor reviews his film, breaks down what's working, and gives him specific drills and adjustments to focus on between sessions. Not generic tips — work that's built around his swing, his mechanics, his game.

MENTAL GAME
— 02

Mental Performance training

Slumps. Pressure moments. Bad outings. The mental game is where most players lose it — and where the right mentor changes everything. Your son will work through real-game scenarios, build pre-game routines, and learn how to handle failure like a pro.

GOAL SETTING
— 03

Goal Setting and accountability

Real goals. Real check-ins. A mentor who actually follows up. Players grow when someone they respect is paying attention to whether they did the work — and your son's mentor is exactly that voice.

FOUNDER
Meet Your Founder

Chase Grant. Coach. Mentor. Father of this mission.

I spent years coaching college baseball — and watching the same families struggle with the same things every year. Talented players plateauing. Smart kids losing confidence. Families spending thousands without anyone actually building the whole player.

I built The Athlete Market because development can't just be about mechanics. It has to be about confidence, mindset, work ethic, and habits — the stuff that separates good high school players from young men who keep growing into the next phase of their lives.

Every family starts with a free call directly with me. I want to know your son's story before I match him with one of our mentors — because the right pairing matters more than anything else we do.

"I'd rather work with 6 families a month and actually change their outcomes than 60 families and just collect the check."
Real Players. Real Growth.

From San Marcos High School
to college baseball.

These are three of the players who came through the program. They put in the work. We just made sure the right people were in their corner along the way.

Chase changed the way I thought about the game. The mental side was where I was losing it — and once I started working with him, my whole approach shifted. I stopped letting one bad at-bat ruin a weekend. By senior year I was a different player.

Going through this program is the reason I'm playing college baseball today. Chase didn't just work on my swing — he worked on my mindset, my routines, the way I prepared for every game. The growth wasn't just on the field. It was in who I became.

Before I worked with Chase, I was grinding without a plan. Every week he held me accountable, pushed me when I needed it, and helped me see things in my game I couldn't see on my own. He's the reason I made it to the next level.

Common Questions

Before you book the call.

How much does the program cost?
Programs range based on length and intensity. We don't list prices publicly because every family's needs are different — and we'd rather match the right program to your situation than push a one-size-fits-all package. We discuss pricing on the free call.
Is the call actually free?
Yes. 30 minutes, no cost, no obligation. Even if we decide we're not a fit, you'll walk away with a clearer picture of where your son stands and what to focus on next.
What ages and levels do you work with?
High school players from freshman through senior year. We work with players at every skill level who are committed to growing as a player and a young man.
Is this a recruiting service?
No. We're a mentorship and player development program. We focus on building the complete player — skill development, mental performance, confidence, and the habits that translate to the next level. We don't promise scholarships, contact coaches on behalf of players, or function as a recruiting service. We help young athletes become the kind of player and person that the next level looks for.
My son is only a freshman. Is it too early?
It's not too early. The families who start early have the biggest advantage — players build the right habits and mindset before high school pressure ramps up. We work with players from freshman year through senior year.
How is this different from a private hitting or pitching coach?
A private coach works on one skill — your son's swing, his mechanics, his velo. A mentor builds the whole player. Skill, mental game, confidence, work ethic, accountability, life decisions — the entire foundation of a serious young athlete. Both have value. But a great mentor multiplies what every other coach is doing.
